WebARENA VPS Cloud ends January 31, 2027. Protect your applications and data.

NTT PC Communications has announced that its specific WebARENA VPS Cloud product will end January 31, 2027. Customers need to preserve data and move workloads before access ends. This does not mean that WebARENA Indigo, IndigoPro, SuiteX or all other WebARENA services are shutting down. TheAppGuy offers an independent, customer-authorized technical assessment, including for businesses that are considering destinations outside Japan.

VPS Cloud ends January 31, 2027VPS and databases · Backups · DNS continuity

What is changing?

According to WebARENA's September 30, 2026 official notice, new sales of VPS Cloud instances and certain options have stopped, and access to VPS data ends with the service on January 31, 2027. WebARENA offers Indigo as a successor, but says customers must arrange their own migration or use a specialist. Separately, VPS Cloud-linked optional services including backups, load balancing and DNS outsourcing are cancelled with the VPS Cloud subscription. Using WebARENA DNS or an NTT PC network address by itself does not prove that a site is on the retiring product.

Confirm your actual product and contract in the WebARENA customer portal before acting. Save independent, verified copies of files, database exports, virtual-server configurations, credentials inventory (without sharing secrets), DNS zones, mail-routing records and certificate renewal details. For migration to a destination outside Japan, independently assess data residency, privacy requirements, latency, export permissions and available capacity. We cannot guarantee a Japan-region destination or uninterrupted service.

Check the provider's official notice ↗ and any account-specific communications before deciding when to migrate.

Plan the move before the service ends

  1. Verify the actual subscribed service is WebARENA VPS Cloud rather than Indigo, IndigoPro, SuiteX or another product. Review your contract, customer portal and WebARENA's official September 30 notice; record any earlier account-specific restrictions.
  2. Inventory Linux version, installed software, websites, databases, SSH and firewall rules, public IP dependencies, scheduled jobs, TLS certificates, backups and external integrations. Do not submit passwords or private keys in intake forms.
  3. Preserve independent off-platform backups before the cutoff. Test database exports and file archives; document any backup, load balancer or DNS outsourcing options that would end with VPS Cloud. Confirm who controls authoritative DNS and email records.
  4. Choose a suitable destination only after checking Japanese data-residency and privacy rules, latency, application compatibility, price, hosting capacity, and data-export permissions. A cross-border move may not be appropriate for every customer.
  5. Restore into an isolated staging environment, confirm application behavior and recoverability, then coordinate any DNS, email and traffic cutover after written customer approval. Reconcile final changes before cancelling the original contract.

What we need to assess your server or site

  • Current provider and exact service or plan name
  • Domain(s), operating system, applications, databases, and background jobs
  • CPU, RAM, storage consumption, and typical traffic where applicable
  • Recent backup status, recovery requirements, and tolerance for downtime
  • DNS, email, firewall, certificate, integration, and IP-dependent dependencies

Independent migration support

TheAppGuy can review the workload and propose a supported destination, a migration scope, and an estimate. Any backup access, copying, test deployment or DNS cutover requires the customer's approval. We confirm compatibility and available capacity before making a commitment.

We are not affiliated with, sponsored by, or officially endorsed by NTT PC Communications / WebARENA. A migration assessment is not a guarantee that we can accept every workload.
