Dedicated infrastructure · Workload planning
When does a dedicated server make sense instead of a VPS?
Dedicated hardware may make sense for sustained resource use, predictable isolation, particular storage layouts or software that requires control over a full node. It is not automatically a better fit for every website or app.
Capacity and location
Discuss CPU requirements, memory headroom, storage I/O, backup capacity and the regions your users need to reach. Hardware model, network and availability are confirmed before ordering.
Migration and rollback
Inventory services, databases, firewall rules, IP and DNS dependencies, then prepare backups and an agreed validation window. Public traffic stays on the old server until the cutover is approved and tested.
Operational ownership
Specify which party manages patches, hypervisor or OS, applications, incident response, off-server backups and restoration testing. These responsibilities vary by managed service agreement.
Not sure whether dedicated hardware is necessary? We can review an existing VPS workload first and outline a right-sized option; final pricing and availability depend on the required configuration.
